This is Day 5 of your 10 Day transformation series, Applying The Ultimate Success Formula. We are applying the success principles from Jack Canfield’s book, The Success Principles: How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be.
In Day 4, you learned that acknowledging your past successes provides a powerful way to generate the confidence and determination you need to fuel your progress toward future success. When you remind yourself of those things you’ve already accomplished in your life, this provides you with the realization and confidence that you can achieve anything you set your mind to!
In Day 4 you were introduced to Jack Canfield’s Ultimate Success Formula. Today, in Day 5, you will learn how to apply the Ultimate Success Formula to discover the ONE powerful success strategy that will significantly improve your life – by teaching you how to get a better outcome every time, no matter what kind of circumstance you find yourself in.
The Ultimate Success Formula
The Ultimate Success Formula is defined as:
EVENT + RESPONSE = OUTCOME, or E+R=O
When this simple formula is applied in your life it means that every current outcome you experience is the result of how you responded to an earlier event. Again, events are those things which impact you where you have no control. This means that your current response may have nothing to do with the current set of circumstances or events. It’s just your programmed response.
Optimize The Ultimate Success Formula In Your Favor
The only variable that you have control over in the ultimate success formula is your response (R). If you want a different outcome (O) you need to respond in a different way. When you respond to negative events in a positive way, you are far more likely to guarantee a more positive outcome. Isn’t that powerful?! This means that you don’t have fall victim to your previous responses and conditioning! Regardless of the event you can choose to respond differently to the event to produce an outcome that will best serve you! But, you first must learn how to identify and control that response.
Learning how to bend circumstances in your favor no matter what events life throws your way is the ONE powerful lesson, more than any other, that will significantly improve your life!
Day 5 Transformation Activity:
1. Read pages 39-43 in the excerpt of The Success Principles (excerpt). (Pages 6-10 in the full version of The Success Principles – 10th Anniversary Edition: How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be.
2. Listen to the following 59 minute audio, “Take Control and Get What You Want”, which teaches you how you can change the outcomes you get in life by simply changing your responses.
3. As you listen to the audio, write down one recent outcome you weren’t happy with. Consider how a different response might have resulted in a better situation.
4. Think of an upcoming event you’re worried about. Consider the different responses you can make. Which one is most likely to lead to the outcome you desire most?
To improve your chances of creating the favorable outcome, share both the upcoming event and your planned response with a trusted friend. The concept behind this exercise is, when you put your intention out there in the world, you’re much more likely to receive it.
