Why Brand Yourself?
Whether you are an entrepreneur owning your own business or a salaried professional, success comes to those who dominate their industry or their market. Having an entrepreneurial mindset and dominating your industry is now impacting a greater segment of the working force. Companies are replacing employees with non-employees, or independent contractors.
Your Brand In The New Economy
You are currently living in the era of the New Economy where people get paid based on their worth and the value they contribute to the company. The costs associated with labor is typically the largest expense on a company’s income statement. To reduce these costs many companies are replacing employees with independent contractors. The independent contractor is responsible for paying their own self employment taxes and health benefits.
Build Your Loyal Tribe With Branding
Now, more than ever before in history, your ability to generate income is directly tied to your ability to attract buyers to you (in a particular market) and set yourself apart from other leaders in your niche. You create a tribe of followers by tapping into their needs, wants, desires and pain and provide solutions. Doing this consistently allows you to build authority among your audience where these people will be loyal to you because they trust you.
For example, top performing night clubs in big cities like Phoenix, Arizona, hire bartenders and servers based on how many followers a person has on Facebook and their ability to pull in traffic to the night club, and increase sales. It’s now an environment of what can you do for your company or your market, not what can your employer or the market do for you.
Creating Multiple Streams of Income
The New Economy is causing proactive people to become more open and creative to keeping themselves marketable in their current profession or business while also creating other streams of income in order to become more financially secure and to minimize the risk of lost income from any single source.
Because of its low cost of entry and its leveraged residual payout potential many people start a network marketing home business as a second sources of income. However, remember that the key to your success in network marketing is to treat it like a business and not a hobby.
Brand Yourself In Multiple Professions
To secure yourself in your current business or profession while also building an additional income source like network marketing you need to brand yourself separately in those sectors. Branding yourself in each niche, separately, allows you to maintain your integrity while holding yourself out as an authority in each profession or niche.
For example, as a CPA (certified public accountant) continued educational courses are required by the state licencing agencies. I use this education along with my years of experience to contribute value to various professional forums on the internet. My other professional area for branding pulls in the other income streams. These income streams include my network marketing business, affiliate sales and coaching programs where I help people create successful home businesses. I market myself differently for each profession.
How To Dominate Any Market With Branding & Value
To dominate in any market you must brand yourself and bring value to your target market. You bring value to your target market by identifying your market’s key problems and then provide solutions to these problems.
Key Aspects To Building Your Business
To build a successful business you must be doing two types of income producing activities each month. One is passive and the other is active.
Marketing: Passive Income Producing Activities
Most people with a home business in network marketing don’t think about marketing activities. However, marketing is a passive activity that is very important for your success. Marketing is an ad or a blog post targeting your desired market which contains valuable content that draws people in to learn more about who you are and what you’re offering. Valuable content is defined as solutions that solve the problems and pains of your target market. This is passive activity because you place the ad or the post once. Then your interaction with these leads is based on those people who take action on your ad or post.
Prospecting: Active Income Producing Activities
Prospecting is an active income producing activity where you contact people to see if they are open to what you have to offer in products or your business opportunity. Most people hate the idea of prospecting, usually due to fear. This fear is tied to your fear of rejection or pride. In either case, fear is tied to YOU and/or the outcome.
People also dislike prospecting because they think it’s about selling. Because so many have been the recipient of being “sold” by others they don’t want to do this to others. However, prospecting is NOT about selling.
it’s about serving and building relationships. You need to build rapport and find out what a person’s needs and problems are. Then you provide them with a solution. You need to ask the right questions to increase the chance that your prospect will say “yes” to the products or business opportunity you are offering them. This is a skill that can only be developed and mastered by doing the actions of prospecting.
