This is Day 2 of your 30 Day Affirmation Challenge where today you Take Full Responsibility For Every Aspect Of Your Life.
It’s only in taking full responsibility for everything in your life that you truly begin to be the master of your own destiny.
In fact Jack Canfield, author of The Success Principles and a master of self improvement, states, “If you want to create the life of your dreams, then you are going to have to take 100% responsibility for your life as well. That means giving up all your excuses, all your victim stories, all the reason why you can’t and why you haven’t up until now, and all your blaming of outside circumstances. You have to give them all up forever.” [Jack Canfield Blog]
Personal Responsibility Versus Blame
It’s time to embrace and live your full potential!
Anyone can overcome and achieve anything they want to regardless of their past or current circumstances. This means you, me…everyone. It begins with taking full responsibility of every aspect of your life and refusing to blame anyone else.
The degree to which you accept full
responsibility for everything in your life
is the degree of personal power you
equip yourself to change or create
anything you desire in your life.
Responsibility is not the same as blame. Blame determines who is at fault for causing something while responsibility determines who is committed to improving things.
To blame is lame and dis-empowering. It’s easy to blame someone else, but then you are giving up 100% control and 100% power over your destiny to somebody else.
While you may not be able to control 100% of things that happen to you, you are in control of how you allow those things to impact you. You can allow external causations to victimize you or EMPOWER you and propel you forward. (But, victimization will NEVER serve you!) When you learn how to get out of you own way, the path of success will become much clearer.
Taking 100% ownership of your life is the first step toward changing your life.
It doesn’t matter who is at fault. It only matters that you and I are committed to leaving the past in the past and making our lives exactly the way we want them starting today.
Honor Your Commitments To Self
The second component of taking responsibility is honoring your commitments…most importantly honoring those commitments you make to yourself.
People who have failed at something and accepted this defeat have fallen short of their full potential and broken their commitment to themselves. Those who have succeeded have pushed through their failures until they achieve the goal that they have committed themselves to (first).
If you’re feeling hesitant or concerned about whether or not you will be able to follow through with this challenge for 30 days, relax…its completely normal to feel that way.
We all suffer from RMS (Review Mirror Syndrome…letting the past disrupt your ability to stay in the present). So it’s not only expected that you would be a bit hesitant or nervous, but its actually a sign that you’re really ready to commit…otherwise you wouldn’t be nervous.
Self Honesty
Another key principle I have learned in the area of personal growth is how important it is to be honest with yourself, live a life in honesty with others and hold yourself accountable to the words and commitments you speak. The person in the mirror is your biggest friend, greatest advocate and your greatest enemy. Until you are completely honest with yourself you will feel an inner conflict. Use this inner conflict as your guide. This is your higher self helping to guide your path toward your greater potential and having a full, abundant life.
Your failure to be honest with others and honoring your word or commitment is a directly reflection of your lack of personal integrity and self honesty. Your word is your honor. This is a reflection of the relationship you have with yourself. What are you hiding from? What are your fears? Are yourself the deep questions of why you can’t be honest and live your truth? Going deep with your healing in this area will bring more self love, acceptance and freedom into your life.
True freedom is when you can live a life of honesty. This is when you are living your truth. With your truth comes empowerment, purpose and passion to create the life you dream of.
Self Investment, Love And Appreciation
When life gets busy the area that we typically sacrifice first is the time and focus that we allocate to ourselves. However, time and appreciation that we invest in ourselves the most important. Because of all the demands placed on us we must care for ourselves so that we can care for others and perform at our best. This is why the Miracle Morning is the most important part of your day. This first hour of your day sets the tone for the rest of your day.
It is also important to show yourself appreciation and self-love. At the end of each day look in the mirror and tell yourself, “I appreciate you. I love you.”. This may feel strange or awkward at first, but it’s important, especially as you are working so hard to improve yourself.
