So you want to quit? …your home business, your education.. Your desire to quit is normal. We all have thought about quitting at one point or another. It’s actually abnormal not to have thoughts about quitting.
The Urge To Quit Is Normal
The greatest urge to quit will come just before your greatest breakthrough. It’s known that your greatest breakthroughs come just before your greatest breakdowns. But you can only realize your greatest breakthroughs by pushing through the urge to quit, doing the hard work, keeping your eye on the prize of the life and legacy you want to create.
This path you have chosen is noble. If it was easy many would take that pill. This path is creating your greatest personal growth, your greatest purpose, your greatest legacy.
Story Of The Crabs
When you feel like quitting check your influences. Most people have dis-empowering environments and people in them. These influences in the world say that it’s okay to quit. This is because by quitting you are also validating their lack of ambition. It’s like the story of the crab. When you put a bunch of crabs in a bucket as one of the crabs crawl up the side to get out to gain freedom the other crabs will pull them back into the bucket with the rest. If you quit you will always regret doing so. But remember that your success is lying just around the corner of your struggle. This is just a test of your character and perseverance to see if you are worthy of the success and blessings on the other side. Keep going.
The Urge To Quit Is Temporary If You Act Quickly
Here are some suggestions for you to take action on to change your thoughts of quitting that will put you back on the road toward your success:
Invest in yourself: Those who are success top leaders invest in personal coaching and developing programs. This is merely a transfer of capital asset from cash to your personal asset. This investment will always be a necessary requirement as a strong successful leader.
Daily learning: Each day you need to spend 15-30 minutes reading, listening to or watching resources that will promote your personal growth and help you become a top leader.
Teach and serve: The only way to truly learn what you have invested time and money in is to teach others. Put into action what you have learned by serving others and providing value without expecting anything back in return.
Circle of influence: Join a support group of people who have the success you desire or have the same goals and ambitions you have. Also check your circle of friends. You are the average of the top 5 people you spend the most time with. If they don’t support your path of success you need to weed them out of your life because they are holding you back from your true potential and what you are meant to accomplish in your life.
Daily Affirmations: Each day and throughout the day repeat affirmations to yourself like, “I am successful”, “I am worthy of success and good things in my life”, and “I am an influential leader”.
Gratitude: Keep a gratitude journal. Each day write down the things you are grateful for. Write down the things you want the blessings that come into your life as a result.
Quitting and Failing
There is no such thing as a failure. People either succeed or they quit. In fact you have a responsibility to yourself and the naysayers to push through a be successful. You may have many sequential failures along the road to success, but you are not failure.
Head Trash
If you think your gut is telling you to quit this is wrong. It is your head trash telling you to quit. Head trash is a term coined by Timothy Thomas. He explains in his book, (purchase here:) HeadTrash: Cleaning Out the Junk that Stands Between You and Success, that head trash is the ego in the mind trying to keep you the same, trying to keep you small, trying to keep you from your life purpose to influence change and positively impact the lives that only you were meant to do.
You can be a successful top earner. Don’t let the head trash get in your way.
The Universe Works For Your Success
If you’re feeling that burning urge to quit something that you know deep inside your heart that you have a passion for and a purpose to fulfill, then keep pushing through. Keep going. You will definitely never regret it. So many people will be eternally grateful that you pushed through and kept going. But you will definitely regret quitting and you will never know the faces of the lives you were supposed to change…except you may see their disappointed faces on the other side.
The universe will always be working for you and not against you. You must do your part before the universe can do its part. When you have proved yourself and learned the lessons required of you, the universe will open up the gates of abundance, but only if you don’t quit.
