Why do I write an article on “Stop Sabotaging Yourself”? It’s because we all do it and don’t even realize it. But there is a way to stop sabotaging yourself and it’s simple.
What is holding you back from the big dreams you once had? Discovering and living your true life purpose? Having the healthy lifestyle you know you should live? Having that successful business of your dreams and changing lives?
I’m here to tell you that you are your biggest competition. The world needs people who will get out of their own way and embrace that calling they were meant to fulfill in this life. If you know that taking action x will bring about the amazing result y, then why don’t you take the action? The reason you don’t is your brain.
The fact is that the natural state of the human brain is to be in autopilot mode. This is the mode of least resistance, low processing and just keeping the status quo.
For you to accomplish something different requires that you exercise action. The natural state is that you are only going to do the things you feel like doing or you are forced to do. For example, when we were young we preferred going outside to play with our friends until our parents made us come in to do our homework or chores. We preferred fun activities over work.
Simple Trick To Stop Sabotaging Yourself
To start achieving the success you want for yourself you must train yourself to take action! The brain has 5 seconds before it will shut down your attempts to take action on an idea you have. If you have an idea or impression that you are supposed to take action y, like start your own business to provide you additional income and fulfill a dream to help others, your brain will start giving you all the reasons and excuses of why you shouldn’t start that business. Then your brain adds the fear factor to solidify the kill of your idea to supposedly protect you from yourself. These are all lies the brain tells you.
5 Second Rule: How To Stop Sabotaging Yourself
To achieve the success and the purposeful life you dream of and you were created for, you must train yourself to live the 5 Second Rule:
You have 5 seconds to respond and take action to idea before your brain will talk you out of it.
So when you have an impression to call someone or do something take action immediately within 5 seconds! This is your higher self calling you out for your greater purpose. Don’t let your brain start to analyze and talk you out of that impression, or instill fear in you.
In the phrase, “Many are called, few are chosen”, the “chosen” are those who fearlessly take ACTION!
Try this exercise: The next time you are inspired to go talk to a stranger, call someone or something like this, take action immediately. For example if you are supposed to call someone, start dialing immediately! Don’t think about what you’re going to say. Those words will come. Then take note of the outcome. Then do this again. Do this action each day!
You have greatness within you. I promise you that if you take fearless action on those things you are inspired to do, while using the 5 Second Rule, you will accomplish amazing things, grow to your true potential, find your life purpose, live the life of your dreams and positively impact many lives. Even more, the people who are meant to enter your life to help you accomplish these things will be drawn into your life, but only if you do your part.
