When you first start blogging one of the first struggles is creating content in your blog. In other words, what do you start writing about? In this blog post I share some steps to help you get going on writing your blog content.
Creating the right content is the most important factor in building your personal brand and building a success business online. The topics and key words that you use will determine how people find you through browser searches like Google. Once people find you, you want to write content that will bring them back to your blog.
Identify And Know Your Audience
The first step in writing a blog is identifying who you want to attract to your blog. Who do you want to speak to? Even more, who do you want to build a relationship with? Who do you want to impact and provide value to? Who will be interested in what you have to share? Think about who wants to buy your products or services, or join your business opportunity?
Identify Your Audience’s Problems
Once you have identified your audience, or your target market, find out what their problems are. What keeps them up at night. One way to learn what your market’s problems are is to find the social media groups where they might hang out. For example, if your target market is a young entrepreneur search for “young entrepreneurs” on Facebook or LinkedIn. Read through the posts to see what problems people are asking questions about.
Creating Content That Provides Solutions
Once you have identified your audience’s problems research what the solution is. Then write about the solution and post a link of your blog in the group’s social media page.
Another way to find content to write on is to think about and ask yourself, “What do I know now that I wish I knew when I started?”. These are topics that you know well and can teach. Without a doubt, if you had those questions at the beginning, others who are just starting have the same questions. Your solution blogs and videos will provide others with value and draw them to your blog.
Creating Content That Converts To Leads
Follow a simple formula to convert your audience to customers. This format can be used in creating content for your website, creating content for social media or for creating video content.
1. Introduction
2. The purpose
3. Identify the problem
4. Identify the solution
5. Strong call to action
The call to action is important. You want to tell your audience what to do next. If you have provided them valuable content within the blog or video, this is an opportunity to share with them some free coaching, an e-book, or a product related to the same subject. So at the end of your blog include instructions like, ” click here for free training”, or “never miss another post, subscribe to my list.”.
